Hundreds of North Shore area residents are expected to gather at Salem Common Sunday to show solidarity for the family of a local boy who is fighting cancer.

It's all to support of the family of a boy named Mason Silva, who has been diagnosed with leukemia.

The Baby Mason Updates Facebook page has more than 13,000 followers.

The Mason Strong event will begin at 12 p.m. on Sunday, April 13 at the Salem Common. The event already has some 800 confirmed participants on Facebook

So consider joining Mason's family, friends and community supporters this Sunday and wear your orange shirts to show support for Mason and his family during this difficult time.

There will be Mason bands and T-shirts for sale to help support the family, there will be a group making 1,000 paper cranes and there will also be a brief prayer service.

Are you planning on going? Do you have a message for Mason or his family?
