Who says Santa needs a sleigh and reindeer? Jolly old Saint Nick arrived at Popes Landing Saturday with a lift from the harbor master.
According to Gardner Trask, the master of ceremonies for the day, Santa touched down at Beverly Airport shortly before noon and hopped a ride over to the Danversport Yacht Club Marina where he climbed aboard a boat for his grand arrival from the sea.
The annual Santa By Sea event is put on by the Danvers River Committee, Friends of Danvers Recreation, Danvers Recreation and the harbormaster's office with a lot of help from local businesses and organizations donating food, entertainment and activities for the day.
