Road to the Next North Shore Star Starts Tuesday

Auditions will be held on Tuesday night for this year's North Shore Star competition.

Anyone who wants to be the next North Shore Star will take to the stage at North Shore Music Theatre on Tuesday night.

The Beverly Rotary Club and North Shore Music Theatre co-sponsor a gala fundraiser in March that is designed to showcase local singing talent and benefit local scholarships and community aid.

Everything starts on Tuesday when auditions to be held at North Shore Music Theatre. Performers are being pre-screened for the event and anyone interested in attending the audition at North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly on Tuesday should contact Michael Harrington by email at mjhesource@comcast.net or by phone at 978-232-0003.

The auditions will run from 6-9 p.m. Performers must be at least 16-years-old and have singing experience.

The sixth annual "North Shore Star" singing competition will be held in March at Danversport Yacht Club and include a silent and live auction plus a full course dinner that will be followed by an evening of live music, featuring 15 of the region's vocalists competing to be the next "North Shore Star."

A panel of three professional theatre and entertainment judges will select the winner, who will receive cash and other prizes.

Proceeds from the event will support The Beverly Rotary Foundation scholarship and charity endowment, which helps fund scholarship awards and charitable outreach in Beverly.
