VIDEO: Winter Arrivals Looking for Homes

Northeast Animal Shelter has a full house of dogs after weather postponed winter arrivals.

This week, we aren't featuring one pet; we're putting the spotlight on  full house of dogs and puppies.

"Basically, because of the snowstorms, some of our dog arrivals were postponed," said Communications Director Stephen Oakes. "When the weather cleared up, all of a sudden, we got  a large number of groups back to back. As a result, we got pretty packed with dogs," he explained.

In addition to complicating the scheduled arrivals, Oakes said winter weather also tends to dissuade people who might otherwise be interested in welcoming a furry addition.

With the snow melting and more dogs on the way, now is the perfect time to adopt.

In our video, you'll meet our featured group of arrivals, which came to the shelter last week in a trailer owned by Mark Choper of Fairway Horse Transport based in Hampton Falls, N.H. The 13 dogs on board came from South Carolina. Three came from an SPCA shelter in Aiken, S.C., which was damaged in a fire earlier in the month.

Seven of those 13 arrivals are still available for adoption.
