Average Tax Bills on the North Shore

How do 2012 North Shore single-family tax bills stack up? This week, we take a closer look at what people are paying in the communities.

The highest average tax bill is in Manchester-by-the-Sea at $10,125 on an average home value of over $1 million.

On the other end of the spectrum, Peabody residents pay on average $3,553 on an average home value of $300,596.

Note: You may notice the city of Peabody reports a somewhat each fall. That's because the Assessor's office factors in condominiums, one-, two- and three-family homes to arrive at an average value, which it says better reflects what most homeowners pay in Peabody. The average single-family value reported by the state is accurate.
