Book a Stay-Cation Vacation at Coco Key

See what there is to see in your own backyard.

Have you planned your February getaway, yet or were you planning to “wing it?”

For many families these days the idea of escaping to a tropical island during the winter break is just a pipe-dream. With the economic downturn, the pressures on growing families has become intense and expensive vacations are just not an option.

Many families are opting for the next best thing: a stay-cation. Imagine the benefits of vacationing mere minutes from your own home. There is very little packing when you stay-cate, and if you do forget something, just take a quick trip back to reality to get it.

You don’t have to pay someone to feed your cat, or walk your dog, and you’ll save hundreds on airfare. Pat downs and body scans will not be a problem for you, and nobody will ask you to remove your shoes, shut off your electronics or put your tray back to its upright position.

Coco Key at the Crowne Plaza in Danvers is a great stay-cation destination. Get the illusion of a great tropical get-away at a fraction of the cost. They have a huge indoor water park with private cabanas, restaurant and full bar.

They are currently offering package deals to local attractions, such as Peabody Essex Museum, with the purchase of a room for a family of four; of course, the deal includes tickets to the water resort.

They always offer a Basic Water Park package starting at $149 for a family of four. Want to forego the room and instead play for the day? Grandparents over the age of 55 always have free admittance on Sundays, while military get half off their ticket price, and they offer two-for-one on Thursdays.

Book early for spring break and save 20 percent.

Editor's Note: The discount offered for early booking on spring break is no longer available as of Feb. 25.
