Dunkin' Donuts Closes for Makeover

One of the nine Dunkin' Donuts locations in Danvers is not closing, the restaurant is just being renovated.

One of the nine Dunkin' Donuts coffee shops in Danvers has closed for renovations, but it will reopen.

The Dunkin' Donuts on Route 114, at 79 Andover St., has closed in recent days. The parking lot was blocked off and there have been contractors going in and out.

A reader wondered whether it was closing or what was going on.

Manuel Galopim, the owner of the location, said through a spokesman that the restaurant is temporarily closed during a remodeling.

"The restaurant is undergoing a week-long remodel and will re-open next week," Galopim said.

While the location will reopen, it is not unheard of for a Dunkin' Donuts location in Danvers to close. For example, a location once located in Endicott Plaza, also home to Market Basket and Ocean State Job Lot, closed in recent years.

Along Route 114 from Peabody to Middleton, including Danvers, the location that is undergoing renovations is one of six locations along the road.
