Live Music This Weekend: Brian Maes, who Played with J. Geils

Here is a round up of live music happening this weekend around the North Shore.

This weekend is packed with live music on the North Shore and a whole bunch of bands playing a wide variety of music genres, from classic rock to blues and soul, can be seen for free at rock clubs and restaurants throughout the region.

Local musician Brian Maes will be playing the Red Rock Bistro this Friday at 9 p.m. Maes has a storied career in music, touring with J. Geils for 13 years, arranging music and providing back up vocals for RTZ and leading the music for Ernie and the Automatics, Ernie Boch, Jr.'s band.

Myanna will be playing Chianti's in Beverly on Saturday at 9 p.m. "Myanna plays music that mixes together jazz improvisation with funky rhythms, expressive playing and catchy tunes.  Her music, whether it is an original or a cover tune, is colorful and infectious, and she is a consistent crowd pleaser."
