New Urgent Care Medical Center Opens This Week

The mission for the neighborhood healthcare center is to provide high quality affordable care that's convenient to patients.

Instead of scheduling an appointment with your primary care physician or waiting in a hospital emergency room with a bad cut or the flu, you can just drop in to a new neighborhood healthcare center for treatment.

CareWell Urgent Care is opening a new facility (its eighth) this week in Peabody at 229 Andover St. (the Walgreens plaza on Route 114).

The center will be open seven days a week, 12 hours a day (8 a.m. - 8 p.m.) with board-certified doctors on staff to provide high-quality affordable care that's convenient to patients. No appointments are necessary.

Centers include on-site labs, x-ray facilities and dispense medications -- you can walk in for everything from a routine physical to treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses or an immunization shot.

CareWell says it accepts all major insurance plans and Medicare.

The Quincy-based company opened its first center in South Dennis last year and then expanded to Warwick, R.I. and five more locations in Massachusetts.

In addition to Peabody, two more centers are slated to open soon (in 2014) in Cambridge and Arlington.
