'Night of 1,000 Customers' and 24-cent Burgers Doubles as Fundraiser

Chow down on discounted burgers and help support a local nonprofit organization this week at McDonald's.

The McDonald's across from the Liberty Tree Mall on Endicott Street is unveiling its new late night menu this week and raising funds to support a local nonprofit health agency at the same time.

The big goal for Danvers' newest pair of golden arches is to serve 1,000 customers Friday night with its dinner fare and After Midnight Menu.

The "Night of 1,000 Customers" starts at 9 p.m. and 15 percent of proceeds on all food sales for the evening will be donated to Northeast Clinical Services, which has offices in Danvers and Dedham.

Northeast Clinical Services is a home health care agency providing specialized nursing services to children and adult clients. The network of visiting nurses was founded in 2003 by Northeast Arc, which is based in Danvers and serves a wide range of clients with disabilities.

Special giveaways Friday night with 94.5 FM will give customers a chance to win a signed football from former New England Patriot Teddy Bruschi as well as a flat screen TV. The winners will be announced at 10:30 p.m.

Hamburgers for just 24 cents will be available until 1 a.m. and McDonald's Arch Card prizes will be given to the first 100 customers.

“We’re excited to invite the Danvers community into our state-of-the-art restaurant for a fun evening of celebration,” said McDonald’s of Danvers owner Pat Treffiletti.

“The fundraising aspect is especially important to the restaurant; the Northeast Clinical Services team visits our restaurant daily for their morning cup of Newman’s Own Organics coffee and it’s our turn to give back,” said Treffiletti.

The fourth McDonald's location in town opened its doors last November at 182 Endicott St., formerly home to the Crab House, which closed in 2008. The restaurant is open 24 hours a day seven days a week.
