North Shore Window Decor Brings The Store To Your Door

Skip and Lynn Torrance strive to be the premier blind, shade, drapery and shutter resource guide for Danvers home and business owners.

The second time is the charm for custom window accents in Danvers.

Customers of the former Window Works will be excited to hear that Skip and Lynn Torrance are back in business with a redefined vision for the 2000's, North Shore Window Decor.

Customers can expect the same great quality and customer service the Torrances were known for at their former franchise, with the added advantage of shopping right out of their homes.

The Torrances have lived in Danvers for more than two decades, raising their daughter, Kimberley, a recent college graduate, here. The couple, who are both originally from Peabody, decided to open their window decor shop due to Lynn's special knack for home decorating.

After nearly fifteen years, the economic climate changed and the Torrences made the decision to close. "We went back to our professions for a while, and now we thought we'd catch the wave at the end of the recession and jump back into it again...," Skip explained.

By embracing the internet and social media, the Torrances are bringing window decor into the 21st century with their new business, North Shore Window Decor, and a newly launched website, where the Torrences provide local homeowners and businesses access to all the necessary information about shutters, shades, blinds and draperies the industry has to offer.

"With articles being added almost every day, and an online monthly newsletter of window treatment tips, the website is anticipated to quickly become Massachusetts primary resource for residential and commercial window covering tips," Skip promised.

The new business is home-based, and run by the husband and wife team who tackle everything from design consultation to installation to keep the overhead low and pass the savings along to the customer.

"We do not subcontract labor; you deal directly with the owners,"  Skip said. "We bring all the fabric and samples directly to your house so you can see what it looks like in your house, in your light, in your windows. We like to say, 'We'll bring the store to your door.' "

North Shore Window Decor has partnered with six major manufacturers and offers a selection of fabrics from such labels as Hunter Douglas, Carol Fabrics, Normans of Salisbury, and Robert Allen, to name a few. With free shop-at-home Consultations, free measuring and free installation, Torrance asked, "...if you can get superior service, price and deal directly with the owners and still save money without leaving your home-why would you not call us?"

Skip also stated, “Our main objective is to be the premier blind, shade, drapery and shutter resource guide for assisting everyone in the Danvers area with their window treatment needs. The depth of knowledge and resources at www.northshoreblindandshutter.com is simple, concise and offers every homeowner some information about their home.”
