  • Vintage DECO while remaining modern: There were several dresses in this category. Halle Berry in Versace - Amazing; Naiomi Watts in Armani, and Hennessey's favorite, George Clooney's girlfriend Stacey Keiber in Naeem Khan.
  • Soft, muted color palette: A trend that has been seen for three years. The color of choice is a muted metallic tone. Anne Hathaway's Prada is a example of elegance and sophistication while still being fun. As she says "business in the front and party in the back, " Hennessey said. Also Renee Zellweiger's muted gold Carolina Herrera.
  • Ball Gowns: Hennessey said saw more ball gowns this year or the past few years. Hennessey's favorite was Jennifer Lawrence in Dior. "OMG the fabric and color were delicious," Hennessey said. Also wearing ball gowns were Amy Adams in Oscar de la Renta and Jennfer Aniston in one of the few pops of color in Valentino's red knock out.
  • Sequins and beads shone through making the evening shimmering and shiny, Hennessey said. "Amanda Seyfried in Alexander McQueen was out of this world," Hennessey said. The soft color with tone on tone beading on the light chiffon fabric flowed beautifully feminine, she said.

The few pops of color were welcome and worn so well by Reese Witherspoon in Louis Vuitton's cobalt and Maria Menounos in Ramone Keveza's hot pink, Hennessey said.
