Suffolk Construction Moving From Danvers, Roxbury to New Boston HQ

The national construction management firm is planning on consolidating its two area offices into a new national headquarters in Boston.

One of the Boston area's largest construction management firms is building a new headquarters in South Boston and consolidating its existing two offices in Danvers and Roxbury.

The Boston Globe reports Suffolk Construction Co. CEO John Fish recently announced plans to build a 125,000-square-foot facility in the South Boston Innovation District that would serve as the company's national headquarters and house 450 employees.

The new facility would allow the company to operate out of one regional location, as opposed to the site off Route 1 in Danvers and a building on Allerton Street in Roxbury. The Danvers office is at 99 Conifer Hill Dr., which used to be the home base for William A. Berry & Son until it was bought out by Suffolk in 2009.

Suffolk is planning to retain ownership of the Roxbury site and lease it to new tenants, according to the Globe, but no mention was made of the Danvers site. Fish said he hopes to begin construction next spring.
