Four Restaurants Vie for Town's Beer and Wine License

The Board of Selectmen will consider applications from four restaurants who all want the same beer and wine license that's available from the town.

When Danvers selectmen convene this week, they will be hearing four competing applications for a beer and wine license from the town.

The license was turned back by Ted Londi, who recently sold his Water Street business (Londi's Roast Beef) and had never incorporated alcohol into the operation.

The applicants slated for public hearings with the board Tuesday night (7 p.m.) are the Holten Street Cafe, Happy Garden Chinese & Japanese Restaurant, Kelly's Roast Beef and Daily Harvest Cafe.

Holten Street Cafe, once construction is complete, will be located at 78 Holten St. (the site of the former Methodist church). Happy Garden is in a strip mall over at 75 High St., Kelly's is located on Endicott Street at the front of the Liberty Tree Mall property and Daily Harvest is at 103 High St.
