Want to Work for the Town of Danvers?

Danvers is looking to fill two vacancies for town jobs. Read on for more details.

There are currently two job openings with the town: electric utility director and an equipment operator with the Department of Public Works.

Longtime Danvers Electric Director Coleen O'Brien left her post earlier this month to become the General Manager at the Reading Municipal Light Department. The town has advertised the recent vacancy and is looking for experienced candidates to serve the town's 27,000 residents plus businesses.

The job posting says the salary range will be $100,000-$127,000 and candidates should have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field and preferably a master's degree as well, along with seven to 10 years experience at an electrical utility and at least five years of project management experience.

In Danvers, the municipal utility is a division of the DPW and the electric utility director therefore reports to the DPW director. The town manager acts as the general manager of the plant while a municipal light board serves in an advisory capacity.

You can find more information on this position here on the town website.

As for that equipment operator job, it's with the water division of the DPW and you need to have your CDL and hydraulic licenses as well as obtain a Grade II Water Distribution License within a year of hiring. More details here.

Interested candidates for either position should apply in writing to Stephen Delaney, Director, Human Resources, Town Hall, 1 Sylvan St., Danvers MA 01923, or via email to mcarroll@mail.danvers-ma.gov.
