ZBA Hears Plans for Sub Shop at Agway, Teen Dance/Arcade Off Rt 1

The Danvers Zoning Board of Appeals meets Oct. 7 at Town Hall.

Among the agenda items for the Zoning Board of Appeals to consider Monday is a proposal to open a retail sub shop inside the same building that houses Agway and allow a teen dance and arcade over at the shopping plaza on Archmeadow Drive.

Daniel and Christine Wildes, the owners of the Danvers Agway store at 7 Wenham St., are requesting the board allow a loading platform to be installed and allow aforementioned retail sub shop within the existing building.

No further details were given in the ZBA agenda.

As for the other proposal, it's located in the plaza at 20 Archmeadow Dr. off Route 1, which houses Big Lots, the Ann & Hope Curtain & Bath Outlet, David's Bridal, Chili's, Planet Fitness and other retail stores.

The property is owned by Dancross Associates Limited Partnership, which is seeking a use variance to allow indoor recreation/entertainment in what is a Highway Corridor Zone.

According to an agenda outline, the proposal is for a “teen dance” facility with an arcade.

The ZBA meets Monday at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
