DanversCARES Announces Strengthening Families Spring Session

DanversCARES, a community coalition dedicated to supporting youth and families in making healthy decisions, is happy to bring back the Strengthening Families program by popular demand.  The program starts on Wednesday, February 5, 2014.  Sessions are held weekly from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and will run every Wednesday (excluding February school vacation week) for eight weeks.  The program will be held at Riverside Elementary School for weeks 1-4 and then at Highlands Elementary School for weeks 5-8. It is open to families in all Danvers elementary schools.

Strengthening Families allows families of children ages 6-11 to come together once a week to have dinner, learn new family communication tips, and share parenting successes. Unlike classes designed just for parents, this program combines learning as a family unit.  Kids have fun, make new friends, and want to come back every week. Parents connect with other parents and hear practical ways to make family life a bit easier. Any primary caregiver of children of this age can benefit from attending--fathers, mothers, grandparents, or stepparents. This program is for any family—everyone can benefit!
