5 Things To Know on Nov. 16: Free Oil Changes for Veterans

A great way to start the day with a quick look at the events and happenings in town.

Welcome to “5 Things,” your daily resource for community events, happenings in town and other little tidbits of information. Here are five things you need to know on Friday, Nov. 16.

1. Sun: Another great fall day is in store on Friday with sunny skies forecasted along with temperatures again into the 40s.

2. Facebook: If you want a chance to have your photo featured at the top of the Danvers Patch Facebook page, the deadline to submit a photo is noon on Friday.

3. Ballots: The election last Tuesday is well into our rearview mirror, but technically Town Clerk Joe Collins has until Friday at 5 p.m. (per state law) to accept any ballots from overseas.

4. Free Oil Changes: Friday is the final day that veterans can get a free oil change at Hyundai Village and Volvo Village of Danvers, both on Commonwealth Avenue near Liberty Tree Mall. The offer is for veterans and active military members and also includes a free car wash.

5. Trash: Remember, Veterans Day on Monday was a holiday and it means that trash pickup is delayed by a day all week. So pickup on Friday is for those that typically get pickup on Thursdays.
