Barn Workshop Features Wheel Throwing, Handbuilding, Clay Modeling, and Gourd Carving Demonstrations at Topsfield Fair

The Barn Workshop is planning an exciting schedule of
demonstrations during the Topsfield Fair that runs from October 4th
–14th.  The
Barn Workshop will be located in the demo area near the Christmas Tree display,
Lot A, River Gate.

Jimmy Bejko will be demonstrating clay modeling on
Saturday and Sunday of both weekends from 10 am – 1 pm. Jimmy is a sculptor and
designer who has exhibited worldwide. Come and watch as he creates into an amazing
likeness of someone famous.

Each day of the Fair, we will be demonstrating wheel
throwing and handbuilding pottery techniques.  You can watch as a simple ball of clay is transformed into a
mug, rounded bowl, or a fascinating three-dimensional sculpture.  We’ll answer your questions about any
step of the process and tell you more about the classes and workshops we offer.

Then
on Tuesday and Thursday from 3 pm – 6 pm, Susan Burton will demonstrate the art
of gourd carving.  Burton carves
leaves, fish, and intricate designs into the surface of each gourd.  She even fashions gourds into animals
such as ducks and swans.

The studio where year-round fine
arts and crafts classes are held is located at 245 Maple Street in
Danvers, MA, and on the web at barnworkshop.com
