Holten Richmond Middle School Performances of “Bugsy Malone Jr.” Cancelled This Weekend, Shows Rescheduled to March 1 and 2

STORM UPDATE: The coming storm has prompted the cancellation of all our shows this weekend. Please mark your calendars for the new dates, March 1 and March 2.

Tap-dancing flappers and gangsters from the Roaring Twenties take the stage as the Holten Richmond Theater Organization (HRTO) presents the musical “Bugsy Malone Jr.” on February 8 and 9, 2013 at the Holten Richmond
Middle School, 55 Conant Street, Danvers, MA.

Performances take place at 7 PM on Friday, February 8, and at 1 PM and 7 PM on Saturday, February 9. Tickets
are $10, available at the door or for order in advance by contacting Kathy Lopes at 978-774-2039 or kathyml2378@aol.com.

Over 100 students from Holten Richmond Middle School are participating in the cast and crew of this production. Directed by HRMS drama teacher Cherry Bennett with the support of the HRTO Parent Board, “Bugsy Malone
Jr.” is a spoof of 1920s gangster films that takes a light-hearted look at conflict resolution. With a book by Alan Parker, and lyrics and music by Paul Williams, this is the Broadway Junior Version of the show based on the 1976 Alan Parker film “Bugsy Malone.” Like the film, the stage musical includes a classic pie fight using "splurge blasters" (which spew forth "silly string").

The HRTO Parent Board will hold raffles and refreshment sales during intermission at all performances. Visit the HRTO’s Facebook page for updates on the show: https://www.facebook.com/pages/HRTO-Holten-Richmond-Theater-Organization/235703586479220.
