La Petite Boutique

La Petite Boutique for Elliot's Fund November 8th, 9-3 @ the Peabody Institute Library, Danvers. All proceeds go to the Dana Farber.

The Nightingale Knitters will hold their 9th Annual “La Petite Boutique,” a benefit to raise money for Elliot’s Fund for the research of Infant Leukemia at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. This annual event held at the Peabody Institute Library, 15 Sylvan St. Danvers, sells hand knitted and crocheted items for the entire family as well as craft items, nature photography, luscious baked goods, and more. As always there will be a huge Opportunity Drawing, similar to a raffle, featuring 18 holes of golf for 4 (including carts) at the Far Corners Golf Club in Boxford, MA. “This event has become so popular over the years, that when the Library doors open @ 9:00 it is similar to a sale at the old Filene’s Basement,” says Elliot’s Nana, Katy Carlin.

Elliot Carlin Handin is a fortunate survivor of Infant Leukemia...many babies have not been so lucky! Elliot was diagnosed at 3 months of age (2005) with this rare disease. After grueling chemo treatments, remission, relapse and a life saving bone marrow transplant, Elliot, now age 9, is a happy, energetic, water-loving boy living with his parents and younger brother and sister in Sudbury, MA. He lives with many residual effects of all the harsh, life-saving treatments received in his early years, but he LIVES! Elliot’s Fund was established by his parents to hopefully find better treatments for babies diagnosed with Infant Leukemia...and ultimately a cure. His fund is reponsible for the hiring of a researcher at the Dana Farber who is dedicated to this goal. Visit La Petite Boutique on Nov. 8th. and be a part of this ground-breaking effort!
