Georgetown Writer Producing Dinner Show at Timothy's in Danvers
Georgetown writer/director Frank Hauser presents "Teddy's Really, Really Late Show," a hilarious behind the scenes look at a late-night talk show. Hauser wrote and is directing the show. He produced the show a few years ago as a staged reading in Salem, selling out two nights. This performance is on Saturday March 23rd at Timothy's (http://timothysatthevillagegreen.com) on Route 1 North in Danvers. "I'm very excited to see this show come to life again. We've got a fantastic cast and Timothy's is an excellent location. The food is fantastic."
"Teddy’s Really, Really Late Show" incorporates audience participation and portions of improvisation. Hauser explains,"It's a play with an improvised audience participation portion in the middle." Teddy Leeds, played by Giovanni Alabiso, is the host of a mediocre, small market, late-night talk show. Teddy doesn’t mind the poor ratings or the boring guests. What he does mind is learning that a new producer has been hired to “make the show better.”

The audience participation comes in as an "Everyday People" spotlight where the "guests" on Teddy's show are supposed to be normal, non-celebrities for him to interview. This is where the audience comes in. Three or four audience members volunteer to be these "guests" that Teddy interviews.
Unlike the rest of the show which is scripted, this whole segment is improvised. Hauser says that if the reception is good they'll be doing the show on a more regular basis. "The audience-driven element of the show makes it different when one sees the show again."For future performances, Hauser plans to have Teddy's show go through a series of different house bands, like most late-night talk shows, thus keeping folks coming back again and again - just to see what's new with Teddy and the gang.
