Students Compete for the Key to Success - and a New Car

It’s that time of year again: This month, four lucky high school students will be the winners of a certified pre-owned car as part of this year’s Keys to Success program. Now in its seventh year, Keys to Success is an incentive program rewarding high school students who achieve excellence. Monthly, students are given exciting prizes for excelling in various categories during the school year. At the end of the year, those recognized during the academic calendar have the opportunity to compete to win a certified pre-owned car. Honda Village in Newton, Hyundai Village of Danvers, and Volvo Village of Danvers kicked off the 2013-2014 year to motivate and recognize local students to excel in various areas including attendance, community service, improvement in grades, and other categories. The program itself is simple, but effective: Students who excel are given “Key Cards” by the high school administrators, and they are able to cash in these Key Cards to redeem prizes including food or drinks from Kelly’s Roast Beef and tickets to the Museum of Science. At the end of the academic calendar, 50 Key Card holders from each high school will be randomly selected to advance to the “Key Off,” where one deserving student from each school will draw the lucky key that turns over the engine to a certified pre-owned vehicle to take home.

These three Village Automotive Group dealerships supply the certified pre-owned cars that the students compete to win. To coordinate this effort and manage the program throughout the year, Honda Village works directly with the faculty at Newton North High School and Waltham High School, while Hyundai Village and Volvo Village of Danvers work with the faculty at Peabody High School and Danvers High School, respectively.

“Since the beginning, Keys to Success has been one of our most rewarding community involvement programs,” said Ray Ciccolo.  “To see the excitement and surprise in the eyes of each deserving teen when they win his or her own car is an incredibly gratifying experience for everyone involved each year."
