PHOTO: Scouts Retire Flags

Scouts and veterans in Danvers gathered Saturday morning for their annual flag retirement ceremony.

About 40-scouts and scout leaders, 6 veterans and other members of the public witnessed the town's flag retirement ceremony on Saturday morning.

Peter Mirandi, Danvers' director of veterans affairs, said the event "is best described by a line from the Boy Scout Law: Reverent."

Mirandi also noted that Scout Leader Jim Evans deserves special credit for maintaining the annual event.

"I was very impressed," Mirandi said.
