Monster Mini Golf is an exciting indoor monster themed glow in the dark 18 hole miniature golf course that offers a host of fun activities at every turn. There are three locations in MA: Danvers, Norwood and Seekonk. I took the boys to the Monster Mini Golf located in Danvers, MA for this review.

Monster Mini Golf Danvers, MA Review
James and Ryan have played mini golf with their grandmother before, but this was the first time that I took them to play mini golf. When I showed them the Monster Mini Golf website and told them that this place has an arcade too, they were definitely excited to check it out.
They opened at noon and we arrived shortly after that. The first thing we noticed upon entering was how our light colored clothing really glowed brightly under all those black lights.
minigolf5There was a steady flow of families with young kids on the course. It wasn’t too crowed, which made our experience enjoyable – well, enjoyable except for one little incident that I will get to.
Once we had our putters, golf balls and score sheet in hand, we were set to play. (I wanted to play too, but between fumbling with my bag, my putter and taking pictures, I had to just watch the boys play. It really was quite comical.)
Once we hit the golf course, it was like being in a haunted house with scary glowing props at every turn.
minigolf10Frankenstein would “come to life” every few minutes. The boys got a kick out of that. He would pop up and quickly pop back down again so getting this picture was a bit of a challenge. But doesn’t he look scary?
minigolf4What do you think of this gargoyle with the blood red eyes? It was hard to concentrate on putting with this guy staring us down!
minigolf8I had to get a shot of King Kong here. He was caged up at about mid course – breathing down our necks as we passed by.
minigolf1The boys swallowed their fear as they posed with the grim reaper. You can see King Kong behind us. Scary stuff!

There is also an “in-house crazy DJ” that was playing music and giving out arcade tickets, for example, if you were golfing with a certain color ball. None of us had a yellow golf ball. Oh well.
The golfing itself was fun for the boys. No hole in one for either. Despite the dark and scary course, James won. He had a few 2 putt shots, which is amazing to me. Ryan was a bit behind with a few 7 and 8 putt shots. (He could use some practice.)
As we left the course to return our putters, one of the associates asked us who lost. He said that we could come back and practice as he handed us a brochure and a pass for one free round of golf. That was nice. If we did live closer, we certainly would come back.
minigolf11I love this clown at hole 18 – super bright and scary! It took a few putts to get him to swallow that ball.
I do have to mention that the only downside to our experience on the course was caused by the two little girls right behind us who would continuously start playing the hole that we were still playing on. I politely told them to please wait until the boys finished playing the hole. I finally told them to go ahead of us. (It was obviously not their first time by the way they were blasting through.)
Their Mom, who appeared in the shadows following behind them, thanked me for doing that. It just made sense. After that, the other golfers were several holes behind and the boys didn’t feel rushed. Perhaps that was a rare occurrence, but maybe the kids working at the counter could remind the young golfers of the rules – like to wait until the golfers ahead have completed the hole – just a thought.

Other than that little annoyance, it was a blast. As you can see here, the golfers were otherwise nicely spread out.
The boys were excited to get to the arcade games. After hitting the (nice and clean) restrooms the boys happened upon the Dippin’ Dots machine. They happen to love Dippin’ Dots. Oh no. Did I have enough cash?
Not to worry Moms and Dads this machine takes credit cards.
Now, it was on to the arcade games.

The arcade had lots of new-looking arcade games as well as your typical games like the basketball hoops and skeet ball. The boys loved this one machine that kept spitting out 70 and 100 tickets each time. (It was $1 to play this machine. )
minigolf12Ryan made out like a bandit and won 100 tickets a couple times on that machine.
Monster Mini Golf Parties
Before I tell you what prizes the kids picked out with their hundreds of tickets, I wanted to mention that Monster Mini Golf will host your birthday party or corporate event. (If we lived closer, we would definitely consider this place for James September birthday party. I think he and his friends would have a blast.) What a great place to have a Halloween party!
minigolf2The private party rooms are spacious and creatively decorated with the spookiest decor. The two rooms include a full size refrigerator with freezer, plenty of room for food, pizza…etc. The paper plates & cups, bowls for chips, microwave, napkins & all serving utensils are are all included. The tables will be decorated as well. There is no set-up or clean up required – I love that part!

Oh, I almost forgot. When we cashed in the tickets, the boys at the counter were very nice and patient. As you might know, there were many decisions to be made.
minigolf15In keeping with the monster theme, the boys picked out these aliens – no fighting necessary! Everyone, including me, was very happy.
