Problem Areas for Commuters in Danvers? Routes 62, 114 and 128

We asked our readers to chime in on where they thought the worst areas for commuters are in Danvers.

So as a follow-up to this week's data story on average commute times, we asked Danvers Patch readers their opinions on which parts of town have the worst commutes?

"62 is a NIGHTMARE. Danvers to Beverly 40 min some days! The 62E to 128N transition is a death trap," one reader said, leaving no room for doubt on her opinion of the state highway project.

A few other readers likewise identified Route 62 as a major problem area -- some with more colorful language than others -- along with trying to get down Route 114 for anyone who lives in that area.

"I live off of 114...it's a nightmare...constant traffic on 114 and then speeding cars down Garden Street where I live," one reader said.

Route 128 was also mentioned, along with driving down Water Street to get to Peabody and Salem, and intersection of Elliott and Liberty streets.

"The drive is not as easy since the Route 128 renovation at Route 62. Very scary, both ways," a reader said.
