NSCC SOLE CC CONTENDER AT STATE COLLEGE FED CHALLENGE
North Shore Community College (NSCC) was the only community college asked to send a student team to compete in The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston’s recent College Fed Challenge, where they competed with the likes of Harvard University, Dartmouth, MIT, Yale and others. The competition is sponsored to encourage economics students to learn about the Federal Reserve’s role in setting U.S. monetary policy.
“It was a privilege having our NSCC Fed Challenge Team recognized as a competitive rival against very notable colleges,” said team member Sergey Onokhin of Epping, NH.
Professor Moonsu Han, from Newton, led members of his Economics and Finance Club to prepare to compete with 20 New England colleges/universities. He said, “It was my great honor to coach this year’s team. They worked hard and made the college proud. We learned not only about economics but also the importance of team work and helping each other to improve our team.”
