Obituary: Daniel R. Kelly, 64, Lifelong Danvers Resident

Daniel R. Kelly, 64, a lifelong Danvers resident, died unexpectedly on Friday, April 18, 2014. He was the loving husband of Tina (Brown) Kelly, with whom he shared nearly 45 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn on May 25, 1949, he was the son of the late Roland and Elinor (Kiley) Kelly. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a 1967 graduate of Danvers High School. He then served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He was employed by the Kelly Auto Group for most of his life.

Dan enjoyed talking politics and had a great sense of humor. He was fascinated with airplanes and was a member of the NRA and Danvers VFW Post 2359.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Gary Kelly and his wife Maura of Peabody and Lisa Kelly of Beverly, his siblings, Cathleen Kavanagh of Danvers, Brian Kelly of Manchester-by-the-Sea, and Neil Kelly of Plastow, NH, his grandchildren, Ashley and Dylan, and two special grandchildren, Luke and Addison. He was predeceased by a daughter, Colleen Michelle.

His Funeral Service will be Thursday, Apr. 24, 2014 at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity United Methodist Church, 16 Sylvan St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.
