Obituary: Diana Lee (Durkee) Savoie

Diana Lee (Durkee) Savoie, 66, passed away on May 12, 2012 in Beverly Hospital. She was the loving wife of Vincent M. Savoie, with whom she shared 43 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn on January 8, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Gertrude (DeCoff) Durkee. She was raised and educated in Danvers and graduated from Holten High School in 1964. She had been a resident of Beverly for over 30 years, where she was a communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church. Her religion was very important to her and she was very active within her church. Diana was caring and a friend to all.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three children, Dawn Ingemi, Tara Savoie and Craig Savoie all of Beverly, two granddaughters, Jolie and India Ingemi, and a sister Patricia Russell, her husband Edward, and four nieces, all of NH.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Cabot St., Beverly. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Vst. hrs are Tues. from 4-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Diana’s name to the American Diabetes Assoc., 10 Speen St., Framingham, MA, 01701.
