OBITUARY: Danvers Resident, Engine House Pizza Founder, David Walsh Dies at 59

David Walsh died Sunday, Jan. 5 with his family by his side after succumbing to a "courageous battle" with cancer.

Danvers resident David M. Walsh, a Bishop Fenwick High School grad and former owner of Engine House Pizza in Salem, died Jan. 5 surrounded by his family "after a courageous battle with cancer," according to an obituary. He was 59.

Walsh grew up in West Peabody and graduated from Fenwick, after which he worked at the former Pickle Barrel in Peabody and Papa John's in Swampscott. He opened Engine House Pizza in 1979, which he owned and operated for 25 years. He was also a member of the Ferncroft Country Club for 25 years.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at 82 Lynn St. in Peabody followed by a funeral Mass Friday (10 a.m.) at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church at 24 Conant St. in Danvers. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Salem.
