Obituary: Gene Robert Innis, 61

Gene Robert Innis, 61, died on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014 in Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was the husband of Kathleen (Robinson) Innis with whom he shared 37 years of marriage.

Born in Danvers on March 16, 1952, he was the son of the late James E. and Donalda (Anderson) Innis. Gene was a lifelong resident of Danvers. He had been employed for more than 25 years at the former Danvers State Hospital and more recently at the Tewksbury State Hospital. Gene enjoyed traveling with his family, especially Aruba with his wife.

Besides his wife, Kathy, he is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Anne Innis of Danvers, his daughter, Michelle Innis of Danvers, his siblings, Wayne Innis and his wife Lori of Bangor, ME and Donna Innis of Topsfield, two grandsons, James and Matthew Innis, his mother-in-law, Rolande Zwicker of Salem, NH, many nieces and nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his brother Charles Innis.

His family will receive friends and family on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. All other services are private. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Gene’s name to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA, 01923.
