Obituary: Richard W. Cross, Jr., 58, of Danvers

Richard W. Cross, Jr., 58, of Danvers, beloved husband of Gail M. (Toomey) Cross, died Friday April 11, 2014 in the Kindred Hospital, Peabody following a long illness.

Raised in Danvers, he was the son of the late Richard W. Cross, Sr. and Marsha Michaud (Titus). He received his education in the Danvers school system.

Richie, as he was known, had a passion for building and riding motorcycles. He worked over 30 years as an auto body repairman and several years as a tow truck operator at Phil's Towing in Peabody. Since his illness, the love of his life were his three granddaughters whom he adored.

In addition to his loving wife of 33 years, Richard is survived by his daughter, Jessica L. Cross of Danvers, two sons, Richard W. Cross III and his wife Ashley of Danvers, Michael R. Cross of Danvers, his three beautiful granddaughters, Madison, 11, Hadley, 1, and Kylie, 5 months, a brother George W. Cross and his wife Donna of Danvers, three sisters Kimberly E. Cross of Beverly Farms, Denise Leblanc of Hamilton, Kim Michaud of Rowley. He was predeceased in death by three brothers, Peter Cross, Stuart Cross and Edward Cross.

At the request of the family, services will be private. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Rte 62) Danvers.
