Letter to the Editor: Thank You From Dave Thomson

A letter submitted by new School Committee member David Thomson.

Dear Editor -

I'm writing to thank Danvers voters for supporting my candidacy for School Committee in the election held on May 1st.  I was very pleased with the response I received from friends, parents with children in the Danvers schools, and even people I didn’t know when I made the decision to run.  It was even more rewarding to see the election results and know that so many people put their trust in me to help make our public schools the best they can be.  I look forward to joining the School Committee and taking an active role in the process of educating the children of Danvers.

Thank you to everyone that encouraged their friends and family to vote for me and to those of you who were kind enough to allow me to put a sign in your yard.  I especially want to thank my wife, Sue, and my daughters, Riley, Brynn, and, Colby who are always my biggest supporters.  I would also like to extend my gratitude to Molly Buccini and the Danvers Patch for offering a forum for candidates and the public to express their thoughts throughout the election period.  The work that went into blogging on election night and posting the results to keep voters informed was very helpful.

If any Danvers residents have questions or concerns about the Danvers Public School system I encourage them to contact me. I promise to look into every inquiry and respond in a timely manner.

Thank you again for electing me to the Danvers School Committee.  As with every committee I have ever served on, I will work hard to try to make a difference.

Sincerely,

David Thomson
