That's Ridiculous

My husband and I recently became homeless due to mortgage fraud...now we are living in our van.  As if that isn't bad enough, people think we are "camping".  Apparently they didn't hear us, or didn't want to believe it.  I guess it makes people uncomfortable.  I've already sold nearly everything I own and had to part with all my wonderful animals--I have one dog and can't rent an apartment because she is 5 pounds heavier than is desirable.  Does that mean if she gains 5 lbs. I might have to part with her, too?  We have been told to get a post office box, but still use the old "residence" as our address, yet when we "relocated" (still in our van) 50 miles north, asked to transfer to another post office box, we were told to move our mail to GENERAL DELIVERY at the front desk because it is FREE. What am I supposed to say to a potential employer?  It looks like we move around alot.  I've owned 3 houses and a business and have lost it all...I'm college educated and have lots of skills and abilities, yet because I'm homeless I'm looked at as if I'm mentally ill and have fallen off the "grid" of the system (government).  Therefore, we are "invisible".  My van has become my home, my office, my dog's den, my cafe, picnic spot, and my GENERAL DELIVERY MAILBOX; if it wasn't for the Wal-Mart Store, we wouldn't even have a place to go potty.  We've been thrown away like trash.  Here's another kicker, my son became homeless last year after he got attacked at a gas station and hit over the head.  Three members of the same family?  What's that about...we are good people.

My mailbox is my van, my home is my van, my office is my van...no work, no income, no help from the "system" that is put in place to help.."they" act as if this is "normal".  Over a period of 5 weeks Catholic Charities gave us $30.00 in gas and an "employer" of mine handed me a $20.00 gas card after he discriminated against me in the workplace.  People are being lulled into a false sense of security that the economy is rebounding...it is not, but take a look at all the development going on...who do you think is paying for all that?  And how do some of these  are, so there will be more of us (homeless) people
