You Know You Grew Up In Danvers When...

Do you remember Danvers back in the day? Share your memories with Hindsight columnist Laura Hinds.

A brand new Facebook group, “You Know You Grew Up in Danvers Massachusetts when..." is a forum dedicated to memories of growing up in Danvers.

The group is a hotbed of activity and has had thousands of messages posted by over 650 members during the past 15 hours or so.

Members are posting about school memories, memories of long gone stores, favorite restaurants, events and more. There are even pictures of Danvers in days gone by, including the one shown here of downtown Danvers at Christmas time.

There are people of various ages in the group and many are delighted to find each other again after years and years apart. In a way, it’s like a town-wide reunion, which is even better than a class reunion because it includes so many more people.

This is an open group so anyone can join. It’s a lot fun, and you will want to spend hours and hours reading all the posts.

We encourage group members and readers to share their favorite Danvers memories and spots in the comments section on this post, as well as photographs of old spots in Danvers in the "add your own photo" section.

Don’t forget, you can also read my columns, right here on Danvers Patch every week.
