Catalytic Converter Thefts and Break-ins This Week

The following information was provided by the Danvers Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following excerpts are from reports in the Danvers Police Department press log from July 29-31.

Monday, July 29

  • 6:36 p.m. Report of malicious damage to a vehicle at Millipore, located in the Cherry Hill Industrial Park. Police said a catalytic converter was cut off the vehicle.
  • 8:23 p.m. Police received another report of a catalytic converter cut off a vehicle at Stop & Shop.
  • 11:18 p.m. A caller reported suspicious activity -- a possible drug deal -- at Target. No further details were available.

Tuesday, July 30

  • 11:06 a.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident on Endicott Street near Sylvan Street involving personal injuries. One person was complaining of neck and back pain.
  • 3:22 p.m. Report of a stolen wallet at Panera Bread.
  • 8:35 p.m. Report of an assault at the Extended Stay Hotel.
  • 8:47 p.m. Report of a prank at the AMC Loews Theatre involving silly string spray.

Wednesday, July 31

  • 11:33 a.m. Report of an attempted break-in to a home on Weston Street.
  • 1:28 p.m. Drew Clark, 17, of Stoneham, was arrested on a warrant at the CAB Adolescent Program as a courtesy booking for another department.
  • 1:36 p.m. Report of a theft from a motor vehicle at Supino's Restaurant.
  • 1:38 p.m. Report of a break-in to a car outside Market Basket.
  • 3:54 p.m. Report of a stolen cell phone at Dr. Dental on Endicott Street.
  • 5:06 p.m. Report of a car break-in on Fellows Street.
  • 6:32 p.m. Report of a stolen wallet at Costco.
  • 6:33 p.m. Report of a theft of a catalytic converter from a vehicle on Rosewood Drive.
  • 8:24 p.m. Police responded to a two-car accident on Purchase Street. See related story.
