Danvers Firefighters Barry and Reardon Get Promotions

Brian Barry is the department's newest lieutenant while Ken Reardon is tapped for a captaincy.

Veteran Danvers firefighters Brian Barry and Ken Reardon were just tapped for promotions.

According to an announcement posted to the fire department's Facebook page on Saturday, Barry has been promoted to Lieutenant and starts with Group 2 this week while Reardon moves from Lieutenant to Captain and remains with Group 4.

Reardon, a Danvers resident, was promoted to Lieutenant in 2008.

The announcement did not indicate when an official swearing in ceremony would be held. The page itself is maintained by members of the Danvers Firefighters Association Local 2038.

This is the second set of promotions this year within the department -- Deputy Chief Jim McPherson, Captains Bob Amerault and Jim Brooks and Lt. Jamie Shafner were all formally promoted in June.
