Danvers Man Arrested for Attempted North Reading House Break-in

After receiving a tip from a resident, North Reading police arrested a Danvers man and an alleged female accomplice for an attempted break-in Thursday. 

According to police, around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, a Marblehead Street resident in North Reading reported that he saw a suspicious male and female walking behind a neighbor's home. Police responded and saw the male and female matching the description given by the resident. Both of them attempted to run, police said, before complying with the officers.

After an investigation, police were able to determine that the male and female had attempted to break into a home on Marblehead Street and were interrupted when officers arrived, police said.

Paul Bradley, 28, of 62 Water St. Danvers, was arrested on charges of attempted breaking and entering in the daytime with the intent to commit a felony, possession of burglarious tools, trespassing, conspiracy to commit a crime (breaking and entering) and wanton destruction of property.

Jessica Damico, 30, of 95 High St., Stoneham was also arrested on charges of attempted breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony, possession of burglarious tools, trespassing, conspiracy to commit a crime (breaking and entering), wanton destruction of property and two counts of possession of a class B substance (Suboxone and Clonazepam).

Both Bradley and Damico were arraigned at Woburn District Court on Friday.

Chief Michael Murphy is grateful to the officers who acted quickly and made the arrests as well as the neighbor who reported suspicious activity.

He made an observation that applies to Danvers as well as North Reading - that neighborhoods are known best by those who live there. He encouraged residents to look out for their neighbors.

“It is important that residents continue to look out for their neighbor and report any suspicious activity to police. The quick call to the police in this incident may have prevented more serious crimes from occurring in our community,” he said.
