Danvers Man Charged After Allegedly Punching Dog Walker

He is being charged with assault and battery.

An Andover Street man pleaded not guilty on Thursday on a charge that he punched a 52-year-old East Boston man who was walking a dog at Dane Street Beach in Beverly earlier this month, reported the Salem News.

Daniel Robichau, 22, of 279 Andover St., Danvers, allegedly struck the man after the man asked Robichau and his friends to stop swearing in front of children. Robichau also allegedly made a kicking motion toward the man’s dog, reported the Salem News.

The victim reportedly tried to protect the dog and Robichau punched him in the chest. Robichau acknowledged that he punched the man, but said the man grabbed his jacket.
