Woman Steals Charity Box From McDonald's; 'Grenade' on Elliott Street

The following information was provided by the Danvers Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following excerpts are from reports in the Danvers Police Department press log from Nov. 19-22.

Tuesday, Nov. 19

  • 7:17 a.m. Report of an erratic operator in a white mini van on Maple Street. Police said the van was gone when they arrived.
  • 8:21 a.m. Another report of an erratic operator in a white van, this time at the corner of Locust and Wenham streets. An officer said the van was gone before he arrived.
  • 3:19 p.m. Martisse Johnson, 26, of 8 Stanley Ter., Lynn, and Barbara Jimenez, 23, of 5 Oakwood Ave., Lynn, were both arrested, following a report of two shoplifters at Kohl's. They were both charged with larceny over $250.

Wednesday, Nov. 20

  • 8:58 a.m. A caller at the Clark School reported hearing possible gunshots in the woods. Police checked the area, but didn't find anything.
  • 9:34 a.m. A mock lock down drill was conducted at the Thorpe Elementary School.
  • 12:05 p.m. Report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle at the corner of Bradstreet Avenue and Bridge Street.
  • 1:01 p.m. Report of a shoplifting at Kohl's.
  • 5:32 p.m. An Adams Street resident reported having brown tap water in the house.
  • 5:39 p.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries at the corner of Poplar and Franklin streets.
  • 5:50 p.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Route 114 near PetSmart.
  • 7:15 p.m. A caller reported someone was yelling and swearing in the parking lot at Lowe's Home Improvement.
  • 7:32 p.m. Report of a larceny of clothing at Motel 6.
  • 8:42 p.m. A deer was struck by a car on Route 114 near the Rose Court Residences.

Thursday, Nov. 21

  • 12:53 a.m. Report of an assault at a Holten Street residence.
  • 2:22 a.m. Ashley Ellard, 23, of 50 Glendale Dr., Danvers, was arrested, following a report of the theft of a charity box at the McDonald's on High Street. She was charged with larceny from a building.
  • 12:50 p.m. Report of suspicious activity -- "two females in progress" -- at the East Coast Alpine store in Endicott Plaza.
  • 6:14 p.m. Report of a suspicious person -- a past shoplifter -- at Dick's Sporting Goods.
  • 7:12 p.m. A caller reported a car break-in outside Olive Garden. A window was smashed.
  • 10:01 p.m. Robert Bouffard, 63, was arrested on a warrant after police responded to Kane's Flower World for a well being check.

Friday, Nov. 22

  • 6:59 a.m. Report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle on Williams Street.
  • 7:26 a.m. Report of a suspicious package -- a grenade -- on Elliott Street.
  • 8:04 a.m. Report of malicious damage to a motor vehicle. The tires were damaged.
  • 9:29 a.m. A caller on Burley Farm Road reported there were trash pickers in a red Chevrolet.
  • 11 a.m. Report of a stolen motor vehicle at Supino's.
  • 11:12 a.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Route 114.
  • 11:20 a.m. Report of a past theft from an employee at Cranney Self-Storage.
  • 12:38 p.m. Stacie Campbell, 26, of 38 Dunham Rd., Beverly, was arrested, following a report of a shoplifter at Walmart. She was charged with shoplifting by asportation.
  • 12:46 p.m. Report of a theft of a dingy motor from Liberty Marina on Water Street.
  • 12:54 p.m. Zachary Hale, 32, of Lowell, was arrested, following a report of a shoplifter at Walmart. He was charged with shoplifting by asportation (second offense).
