DA's Office Says Case Now a Homicide Investigation

What was initially reported as a missing Danvers teenager has now become a homicide investigation, according to authorities.

Scant details have yet to be released, but District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett's office says a case of a missing teenager has turned into a homicide investigation.

DA spokesperson Carrie Kimball-Monahan said a press conference will be held Wednesday morning at Danvers High School.

Danvers police assisted by other law enforcement agents spent hours Tuesday night into Wednesday combing the area behind the school.

Police had initially released a public alert around 10 p.m., saying 14-year-old Philip Chism of Danvers was reported missing and was last seen around 6:30 p.m. at Hollywood Hits Cinema.
