Early Morning Blaze Destroys Trailers On Water Street

Danvers Fire Department was dispatched to Water Street at 5:01 a.m.

Two tractor trailers were destroyed in a blaze early Saturday morning at Harvey Industries on 125 Water St.

Fire Captain Doug Conrad said when first received a call at 5:01 a.m., it was on report of "heavy fire with explosions," at the Eastern Propane Building.

When Group 4, under the command of Captain James McPherson, got to the scene, Conrad said they were relieved to realize it was actually the tractor trailers next door, not the propane building.

The tractor trailers, which had siding materials inside, were fully involved and destroyed.

The explosions heard, Conrad said, were likely due to the tires on the trailers popping under high heat.

Chief Kevin Farrell and Fire Investigator Frank Sacco were on scene. At this time Conrad said they believe the fire was started by accidental causes.

Peabody Fire assisted on location. The scene was cleared at 7:16 a.m.
