Former Danvers Woman Killed in 495 Crash

Rebekah Duerr was a 2001 Danvers High grad. She was killed in a traffic accident July 26 in Haverhill.

Authorities identified the pedestrian victim in a fatal car crash on I-495 in Haverhill Friday as 30-year-old Rebekah Duerr.

Duerr, according to her obituary, was raised in Danvers and graduated from Danvers High School.

She had been living in Haverhill, where she was a certified yoga instructor and operated her own studio. She also worked for years as a processor in the residential mortgage business.

Around 8:30 a.m. Friday morning, Duerr was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer exiting I-495 South via Exit 48 in Haverhill, according to the Eagle Tribune.

Authorities have not released any information on why Duerr might have been crossing the exit ramp and witnesses described her as possibly wearing pajamas, reports the Eagle Tribune.

The paper said there is a giant dog sculpture there and the exit leads to the entrance to a Covanta plant and another connector highway. Duerr's yoga studio is about 3-1/2 miles away on River Street.

No charges are being sought against the driver.

"Rebekah was a warm, wonderful girl who will be sadly missed by so many friends and family," reads her obituary.

She leaves behind a son, Jaxxon, along with her four sisters, parents, stepfather and grandparents.

Visitation hours will be held Tuesday, July 30 for family and friends from 4-8 p.m. at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen.

A funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m at Sacred Heart Church, 165 South Main St., Bradford.
