Man Hospitalized With Head Injury After Fall From Roof

A man was transported to Beverly Hospital with a serious head injury Thursday morning after he fell off the roof of a restaurant into the rear parking lot.

Police initially received a call for a medical aid around 8:20 a.m. and both police and fire responded to the scene at 31 Maple St. -- New Brothers Restaurant & Deli.

According to scanner reports, the man fell from the roof of the one-story building into the rear parking lot. Police said the man was bleeding from his head at the scene.

He was taken to Beverly Hospital by ambulance at approximately 8:30 a.m.

It was unclear from initial scanner reports what the man might have been doing on the roof.
