Meals on Wheels Truck Stolen, Found Hours Later

The alleged suspect was believed to suffer from Alzheimer's Disease.

A Meals on Wheels truck delivering food from the was allegedly stolen earlier this morning.

According to initial scanner reports, at about 11 a.m. the delivery driver was bringing food into a residence at the apartments on Cherry Hill, when he said a person got into his pickup truck and drove off.

The delivery driver believed the suspect was a female who suffers from Alzheimer's Disease.

According to Lt. Dana Milne, police located the truck near the Hogan Regional Center on Hathorne Avenue, just after 1 p.m.

Scanner reports indicated both the female and the vehicle were unharmed.

The Danvers Senior Center's Meals on Wheels service sends food out on a Monday through Friday basis for residents in emergency medical situations, for individuals recently released from hospitalization, and for individuals, due to frailty or infirmity, do not have access to food shopping or preparation.
