Nanny Accused of Leaving Danvers Child Home Alone for Hours

Prosecutors say the 23-year-old woman in charge of caring for a two-year-old girl instead left her home alone in an apartment for hours on end.

A 23-year-old nanny is accused of leaving a Danvers toddler she was supposed to care for instead home alone for hours on end.

Lisa Dibiasso was arraigned Wednesday in Salem District Court on a charge of child endangerment and may face further counts on that charge as investigators determine how many times the toddler was left alone at the Conant Street apartment.

The Salem News reports the incident occurred last spring and when Dibiasso was confronted by police, she told them first she was kidnapped and then changed her story to having to flee the apartment because of someone stalking her.

The Salem News reports Dibiasso recently moved from Peabody to Burlington and was hired off the website Care.com to care for a two-year-old girl and an older sibling. She remains free on her own recognizance as long as she doesn't work with children.
