Owners of Shuttered Danvers Arcade Continue to Wait For State Ruling
The establishment, which is in the Liberty Tree Mall, is shut for the time being.
The owners of the Lucky 7 Arcade in Danvers and Gloucester continue to wait as a new state law is being interpreted to determine whether or not certain machines in the establishment broke any laws, according to an article in the Gloucester Times.
Apparently, a new law to regulate online gaming was not intended to stifle businesses such as the games at the Lucky 7 Arcade, which offers a chance to win gift certificates to area businesses by hitting a button when a spinning light hits a certain point.
However, investigators say that the game is based on chance, therefore, it is illegal.
