Pedestrian Suffers Serious Injuries in Early Morning Accident

A pedestrian was struck while crossing the street at 4:07 a.m.

At 4:07 a.m. Danvers police responded to an accident at Cherry Hill Drive, where a pedestrian was struck by a truck while crossing the street.

Police said a employee was crossing Cherry Hill Drive on his break when he was struck by a 45-year-old Danvers man delivering newspapers for the Boston Globe.

The victim, whose information has not been released, was transported by to Beverly Hospital. He was later transferred to Beth Israel in Boston with serious injuries.

The 2005 GMC truck was towed to the police station as part of the investigation.
