Police Identify Pedestrian Killed on Route 114

The man was staying at the Motel 6 in Danvers.

Danvers Police have identified the man who was struck and killed on Route 114 on Monday night.

Steven Gaulin, 45, of Beverly, was identified as the pedestrian who was struck while trying to cross Route 114 at about 7:45 p.m. Monday. He was struck at the Route 95 North off-ramp onto Route 114 East, according to Danvers Lt. Robert Bettencourt.

Gaulin, who was staying at the Motel 6 in Danvers at the time of the accident, was treated at the scene and then transported to Beverly Hospital where he was pronounced dead, said Bettencourt.

The driver of the 2005 Ford Taurus, an 18-year-old Peabody teen, was also taken to Beverly Hospital where she was treated and released.

The accident is being investigated by Danvers Officer Justin Ellenton and State Police Trooper David Timprio. No citations were given to the driver and Bettencourt said it doesn’t appear charges will be filed against the driver.
