State Takes Custody of Children in Police Chase

Reversing its earlier decision, the state Department of Children and Families took custody of the five Danvers children who were in the parents’ getaway vehicle on Friday.

The Boston Herald reported that the DCF removed the children on Saturday “on an emergency basis” after placing the children with their mother and grandmother on Friday night. The children live with their parents at the Danvers Econolodge, according to the Herald.

Their parents were charged in a Woburn burglary and subsequent police chase through Woburn and Lexington on Friday. The vehicle reportedly reached speeds up to 75 mph.

The driver, Salina J. Pasquarello, 26, of Danvers, and her husband, Ralph M. Pasquarello, 39, of Danvers, were arrested. The male Pasquarello reportedly broke into a Woburn home and was attempting to steal a TV.

Ralph M. Pasquarello was charged with felony breaking and entering into a building during the daytime, felony vandalism, felony larceny from a building, felony theft, five counts of child endangerment with risk of serious bodily injury, two counts of resisting arrest, two counts of assault and battery on a police officer and failing to stop for police.

Salina J. Pasquarello was charged with felony breaking and entering into a building during the daytime, felony larceny from a building, felony theft, five counts of child endangerment with risk of serious bodily injury, failing to stop for police, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and failing to stop for police. She was released on bail late Friday.
